Story from ABC News by By Hilary Cassell

Fifteen mates riding postie bikes are heading from the Gold Coast to Uluru on an outback journey of a lifetime and they are a rare sight, even for the locals of far-west Queensland.

They call themselves the Wild Dogs but they are not a notorious Gold Coast backyard bikie gang.

They are just 15 knock-about blokes who love riding motorbikes together.

Some of the group have been riding motorbikes together for 12 years, others are new to the group.

When Mark Lovell lost his dad to prostate cancer four years ago, he wanted to do something to honour his father’s memory.

Fellow rider, Scott Leppier, came up with the idea of doing a long road trip, not just to honour the memory of Mr Lovell’s dad, but to also raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.
